Next Goal Wins

Next Goal Wins

Although the title leads us to believe that this film is all about football (or soccer!) it really is so much more than that!

Having suffered a world record 31-0 loss at the hands of Australia in 2001, American Samoa are still searching for their elusive first competitive victory ever. Enter Thomas Rongen, the Dutch coach who once played with George Best and Johan Cruyff. He has been set the task of leading this band of battered warriors through a World Cup Qualification campaign, which includes the first transgender player ever to feature in international football!

A beautiful and hilarious exploration of what it really means to be a winner in life.

Ping Pong

Ping Pong

8 players with 703 years between them compete in the World Over-80s Table Tennis Championships in Inner Mongolia.

Terry (81) having been given a week to live, gets in sight of winning gold. Inge (89) has used table tennis to train her way out of the dementia ward she committed herself to. Australian legend, Dorothy deLow is 100, and finds herself a mega celebrity in this rarefied world and Texan, Lisa Modlich, a new-comer at 85 years old, is determined to do whatever it takes to win her first gold.

This film is as much about the tenacity of the human spirit as it is a meditation on mortality.

The Libertines: There are no Innocent Bystanders

The Libertines: There are no Innocent Bystanders

An access-all-areas documentary about The Libertines reunion shows at Reading & Leeds Festivals 2010 from first time director, Roger Sargent and Produced by Pulse Films.
Not knowing much about The Libertines before we started this project, we came away with a super warm and fuzzy feel about them and their superb anthems.

Like most documentaries, Roger (Director) wanted this kept real, whilst building to the amazing crescendo of the two summer festivals! The crowd reaction just shows you how much this band have been missed since they split in 2004.

Le Donk & Scor-Zay-Zee

Le Donk & Scor-Zay-Zee

A 2009 fly-on-the-wall mockumentary written and directed by Shane Meadows, starring Paddy Considine, Arctic Monkeys and Scorzayzee. Le Donk, an ageing and failing musician and roadie, embarks on one last swansong working for the Arctic Monkeys whilst trying to promote his up and coming rapper, Scorzayzee. All this while juggling the fact that he is due to be a father… something’s got to give here…!

This was our first film as Pindrop, and one that we are very proud of! It’s got everything that we love: music, laughs, and a good story of a middle aged man trying to cling to his youth. Big thanks to Shane Meadows and Libby Durdy (Warp Films) for bringing us this wonderful film to get our company started.

I Am Because We Are

I Am Because We Are

In 2008 Richard and Steve worked with Nathan Rissman and Madonna on their heart wrenching documentary.

IAMBECAUSEWEARE is a film that explores the lives of children who have been orphaned by AIDS, and have suffered more than we can possibly imagine.

Set in Malawi, Africa, we follow Madonna as she leads us on a journey through one of the poorest countries on the planet. As we try to discover what is in the heads and hearts of Malawi’s one million plus orphans, we begin to understand that this is not just a story about the orphans of Malawi, rather a story about all of us.

Working closely with Rod Berling (Sound Supervisor), Nathan and Madonna, we helped to build the sound platform so that you could experience the tears, the joy and more importantly the hope for the future generations of Malawi.
