A moving, thoughtful and beautiful film from the talented director Will Williamson, featuring music and words from Keaton Henson and performed by Sir Derek Jacobi.

Will came to us and asked if we could throw our creative talent into his wonderfully stunning piece of art, and it’s one that Pindrop was particularly proud to be a part of!

Screened on Channel 4 and staff picked by Vimeo it really has captivated peoples hearts and minds… enjoy!

Dawn

Dawn

British-mandated Palestine, 1947. Zionists fight for the establishment of a Jewish state in Palestine. A member of the underground movement has been sentenced to death by the British authorities. In turn, they have kidnapped a British officer. Now, they sit out the night together, waiting for the result of the negotiation. If the British hang their friend at dawn, one of them will shoot the British officer.

Dawn is a cleverly quiet film, played out through the night in 1947 Palestine. Shot and acted beautifully, we had to keep up our end and maintain the tension between the characters as the movie plays out. Our main objective was creatively to keep the picture moving with subliminal and subtle sounds and tones rather than anything more obvious.

Comedown

Comedown

Six friends, who’ve known each other from childhood, break into the tower block they lived in as kids, now deserted and condemned. They rig-up a pirate radio station, get high and party!

When one of the group goes missing, her friends begin to search the dark interior of the tower and soon realise that they are not alone: a resident psychopath lurks in the shadows and is hunting them down… taking them out, one-by-one.

Awesome to be working with Menhaj Huda again! We also worked very closely with Keith Tunney (Sound Recordist) from pre-planning, through the shoot and even during post on this one, to get the best out of every scene.

A great film for sound design: a possessed elevator, gruesome killings and making sure we got the atmosphere and feeling inside the old tower block just right…. murky, misty and always something lurking in the shadows!

Storage 24

Storage 24

In London, a military plane crashes leaving its highly classified contents strewn across the city. Completely unaware that the city is in lockdown, a group of people become trapped inside a storage facility with a highly unwelcome guest.

Creating a monster from scratch when all you have to work with is a guy in a rubber suit was our biggest challenge to date! Lots of time spent in the think tank and with Johannes (Director) and Martin (Editor) driving us forward, and with a superb score from Christian Henson, we all got there together!  Be prepared because my oh my is this one foul old lady intent on wreaking havoc in a storage facility the size of a trillion football pitches!

The Weeman

The depiction of the true life story of Paul Ferris. Set on the streets of Glasgow, we follow Paul Ferris on his downward spiral into a life of organised crime. We had many hours of fun making this movie, I mean which soundies wouldn’t? It’s got guns, cars, explosions, a midget, and a fart! ‘Nuff said.

Ping Pong

Ping Pong

8 players with 703 years between them compete in the World Over-80s Table Tennis Championships in Inner Mongolia.

Terry (81) having been given a week to live, gets in sight of winning gold. Inge (89) has used table tennis to train her way out of the dementia ward she committed herself to. Australian legend, Dorothy deLow is 100, and finds herself a mega celebrity in this rarefied world and Texan, Lisa Modlich, a new-comer at 85 years old, is determined to do whatever it takes to win her first gold.

This film is as much about the tenacity of the human spirit as it is a meditation on mortality.
