Just Jim

Just Jim

Just Jim is Craig Roberts’ debut feature as writer/director… and it’s a belter! Not only that, but he only went and roped in Hollywood A-lister Emile Hirsch to star along side him too!

Filmed in Craig’s hometown of Maesycwmmer, and starring the actual school he attended, makes it a project very close to his heart. A thoroughly enjoyable film that will make you laugh, cry and maybe even wet yourself in the process!

Bhopal: A Prayer for Rain

Bhopal: A Prayer for Rain

A film about the 1984 Union Carbide Bhopal disaster. It follows the story of a young rickshaw-puller in Bhopal, India, who gets a menial job at a chemical plant whilst desperate for work. One fatal night, 3rd December 1984, a chemical spill from the plant takes the lives of almost 15,000 people, injuring more than 100,000. The film portrays how the industrial disaster in the city changed his life and those around him.

One of our biggest challenges to date! Our most ingenious sound design is used in creating the hustle and bustle of the Bhopali community with a living, breathing chemical factory sitting right at the heart of it… just waiting to erupt!

Next Goal Wins

Next Goal Wins

Although the title leads us to believe that this film is all about football (or soccer!) it really is so much more than that!

Having suffered a world record 31-0 loss at the hands of Australia in 2001, American Samoa are still searching for their elusive first competitive victory ever. Enter Thomas Rongen, the Dutch coach who once played with George Best and Johan Cruyff. He has been set the task of leading this band of battered warriors through a World Cup Qualification campaign, which includes the first transgender player ever to feature in international football!

A beautiful and hilarious exploration of what it really means to be a winner in life.

Dawn

Dawn

British-mandated Palestine, 1947. Zionists fight for the establishment of a Jewish state in Palestine. A member of the underground movement has been sentenced to death by the British authorities. In turn, they have kidnapped a British officer. Now, they sit out the night together, waiting for the result of the negotiation. If the British hang their friend at dawn, one of them will shoot the British officer.

Dawn is a cleverly quiet film, played out through the night in 1947 Palestine. Shot and acted beautifully, we had to keep up our end and maintain the tension between the characters as the movie plays out. Our main objective was creatively to keep the picture moving with subliminal and subtle sounds and tones rather than anything more obvious.

Comedown

Comedown

Six friends, who’ve known each other from childhood, break into the tower block they lived in as kids, now deserted and condemned. They rig-up a pirate radio station, get high and party!

When one of the group goes missing, her friends begin to search the dark interior of the tower and soon realise that they are not alone: a resident psychopath lurks in the shadows and is hunting them down… taking them out, one-by-one.

Awesome to be working with Menhaj Huda again! We also worked very closely with Keith Tunney (Sound Recordist) from pre-planning, through the shoot and even during post on this one, to get the best out of every scene.

A great film for sound design: a possessed elevator, gruesome killings and making sure we got the atmosphere and feeling inside the old tower block just right…. murky, misty and always something lurking in the shadows!

Storage 24

Storage 24

In London, a military plane crashes leaving its highly classified contents strewn across the city. Completely unaware that the city is in lockdown, a group of people become trapped inside a storage facility with a highly unwelcome guest.

Creating a monster from scratch when all you have to work with is a guy in a rubber suit was our biggest challenge to date! Lots of time spent in the think tank and with Johannes (Director) and Martin (Editor) driving us forward, and with a superb score from Christian Henson, we all got there together!  Be prepared because my oh my is this one foul old lady intent on wreaking havoc in a storage facility the size of a trillion football pitches!
